my Story
from my very first dance class, to my very last writing class in college, creativity and artistry are the two biggest factors that drive my professional career.
Writing
I fell in love with writing in High School. Unknowingly at first, but after I found myself looking forward to essay prompts and new assigned readings I realized my english classes meant more to me than math or science.
I tried to take a “normal” college path, entering the University of Central Florida as a psychology major. But I started to crave the creative release I get when I am dancing in my studies and not just in a dance studio. That’s when I found the Creative Writing pathway.
Multiple poetry projects, research essays, published magazine articles, and scripts later, I am now the beholder of a Bachelors of Arts in Creative Writing. Go Knights!
My upbringing in the arts has been a great influence on me finding my voice as a writer. Dance has taught me about storytelling from a young age, and through that writing has always felt natural to me
Although I am still building my professional portfolio in this avenue, I look forward to offer my growing expertise and skills to different companies and projects.
Dance
I have been dancing as long as I can remember. My parents had me try multiple different sports and avenues when I was a kid of course but the one thing that always stuck around was dance. 20 years later, it’s still stuck.
I started training competitively when I was in elementary school. However when I entered High School, I stopped dancing competitively to make time for my school’s Musical Theatre program. Still training in styles like hiphop, contemporary, tap, and fusion outside of school, I fell in love with musicals.
In college, I did the dance minor program. The connections I made pushed me to start my career dancing at Universal Studios Orlando where I landed my first professional gig, opened a brand new parade, and do regular private events.
I recently completed my NBA rookie season on the dance team for the Orlando Magic, The 407, am part of a freelance contemporary company called Free Movement Society, and teach dance at several studios across Florida.
I’ve had dreams of big stages for forever, and now I’m chasing them.
